Dr. Victor Otieno Okech
Dr. Victor Otieno Okech, PhD, is an expert on social policy with a keen interest on social security, including social health insurance, social housing, education programs, retirement, unemployment programs, and social assistance. Daktari earned his doctoral degree in social work at the Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. He earned a master’s degree (MSc.) and bachelor’s degree (BSc.) in social work and healthcare, both at the St. Elizabeth University College of health and social sciences in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Currently, he is a lecturer at the Technical University of Kenya, department of Psychology and Human Development. He previously worked as a part-time lecturer at the Comenius University in Bratislava, Department of Social work, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, and Railway Training Institute in South ‘B’.
In terms of research and publications, Daktari authored a book on family social work that is currently being used to teach students at the Comenius University in Bratislava. He has also published over 40 research articles in peer reviewed journals. While working at the Comenius University, he successfully attracted research funds for scientific and developmental projects.
