Dr. Violet Nekesa Simiyu, PhD

Dr. Violet Simiyu is a lecturer at Catholic University of Eastern Africa in the Department of Social Sciences. She is also a Coordinator of Programmes in the same Department. Dr.

Simiyu holds a PhD is Social Work from Catholic University of Eastern Africa and holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Social Work. She is a practicing Counselling Psychologist and works as an adjunct lecturer at Pan Africa Christian University. Dr. Simiyu has worked at Kissi University, Masinde Muliro University, and African Nazarene University. She is a published author and researcher. Dr. Simiyu provides mentoring to students in research and life coping mechanisms through teaching and counselling. She is a member of the Association of Social Worker Educators in Kenya and other associations related to her areas of specialization.
